ATA Carnet is an international customs document, which allows the temporary duty-free importation or exportation of goods for a period of one year in the countries joining the Convention.
ATA Carnet reduces the costs of the exporter: payment of customs duty and other taxes (VAT) and duties arising under standard temporary importation procedures can be avoided. It simplifies customs procedure as the exporter only has to use one document at the border and customs clearance takes less time also.
It may be used for temporary works, exhibitions, fairs, shows, filmmaking, concerts, testing etc.
