Mátyás Budai is an economist and an expert with several years of experience as a tax advisor in the field of value-added tax. In his former role as senior tax advisor within Digital Tax Solutions, he was responsible for the development and adaptation of automated tax solutions, as well as the tax-related development and implementation of our Connectax platform which supports tax compliance and compliance with invoice data reporting obligations.

Furthermore, he manages the area of digital tax and IT advisory within Tax Services, supporting our clients in fully complying with their online invoice data reporting obligations, matters concerning electronic invoicing and archival, reviewing invoicing software and developing IT systems.

He is involved in compliance projects as a manager within Tax Services at RSM Hungary Zrt. He manages the tax compliance and tax advisory projects of international enterprises and is involved in tax representation in the course of tax audits.

Electronic invoicing: new rules and requirements from 2024

The digital age and the rapid expansion of e-commerce have brought about changes in taxation and invoicing as well. In December 2022, the European Commission proposed amendments to the VAT Directive as part of the \"VAT in the Digital Age\" initiative. Instead of the originally planned target date of 12 November, the offering of Hungarian Tax Authority\'s VAT return drafts is to be postponed until the end of the state of emergency, i.e. until 1 January 2022 for certain.
