Minimum Wage and Guaranteed Minimum Wage 2025

The amounts for the minimum wage and guaranteed minimum wage for 2025 have been published in Issue 127 of the Hungarian Gazette and officially announced. In 2025, employers should plan for a 9% increase in the minimum wage and a 7% increase in the guaranteed minimum wage for full-time employees. The wage increases will take effect from January 1, 2025.

As of January 1, 2025, the gross amount of the minimum wage will rise to HUF 290,800, and the gross amount of the guaranteed minimum wage will increase to HUF 348,800, according to Government Decree No. 394/2024. (XII. 12.) published in Issue 127 of the Hungarian Gazette on December 12, 2024.

Minimum Wage 2025

The mandatory minimum amount of base salary (minimum wage) for full-time employees will increase to a gross HUF 290,800 per month from January 1, 2025. For weekly wages, this amount will be HUF 66,860, for daily wages HUF 13,380, and for hourly wages HUF 1,672.

Guaranteed Minimum Wage 2025

For positions requiring at least secondary education or vocational training, the gross guaranteed minimum wage for full-time employees will be HUF 348,800 per month from January 1, 2025. For weekly wages, this amount will be HUF 80,190, for daily wages HUF 16,040, and for hourly wages HUF 2,005.
